I Will Always Remember…

I was going through Ma’am Tina’s Friendster and happen to see a familiar name. Alida. She was one of my Instructors when I went back to Nursing School. I don’t do it too often but I went snooping by her site and saw a whole album of her and more of the people who made [...]

Atelectasis

I am still devastated with the thought that we might be losing a dear Uncle from another case of Lung collapse. It happened before already, and with my brother who passed away due to lung cancer it is another news I would never want to hear again. But it came anyways… it came like a [...]

On Being a Nurse

Wearing Scrubs marks a significant part of being a Student Nurse. When you get the chance to finally put one on, it means you are now on the last stages of being just a student. You are on your way to being a NURSE. You spend more time in the hospital getting familiarized with the [...]

Chapter 16. Oncology: Nursing Management in Cancer Care

This should be my favorite topic because it is familiar. So I thought but reading the whole 20 pages exhausted my mind and yes, reminded me of a brother that’s long gone. From terminologies to nursing interventions and rationales, they all looked and sounded very familiar. So I flipped through the pages and focused more [...]

Sometimes…

I wish my Mom lived away from her sister and away from her neices and nephews. I say this because I am so frustrated on how they just take things for granted… money they borrowed, promises they’ve broken, and a lot of headaches they’ve caused my family. There is just an end to everything else. [...]

Pain. The Fifth Vital Sign.

It was a busy day yesterday. We finally got everything settled with the house that we wanted in Corona. It is a five bedroom home and it is a gorgeous one. I will be posting pictures soon when I get the chance. So we got home in Orange County about 7:00 pm and drove directly [...]

Our Lives being Student Nurses

I love the people that I met and come to know and been friends with while taking up Nursing. This is Miss Darlene Daliva, she is young. She’s the instructor for Health Ethics. Miss Gandia or Ma’am Fe as we call her is our Baguio Coordinator. She’s Superwoman! Ma’am Geralyn is our Majors Instructors. I [...]

Done with Nursing School!

A while ago was the last day of school. I am now towards being a Nurse, I only have to wait for the release of my transcript to actually begin a new career. It might take a few months. I will have to beg my sister to go check that everything is going well [...]

Emergency Room

Imagine this: Doctor’s always in a hurry, patients demanding for attention, children crying when given shots, cops, watchers, blood… Medicines and machines, IV lines, stretchers and beds… again, more blood. Cuts, bites, fractures, seizures, and even more blood! Life in the ER is not a joke. For even on a student’s standpoint, everything seemed [...]

Three days at the Nursery… almost

I said almost because tomorrow will be my last duty at the Nursery – bathing babies and cord-tying (cord tie). Monday was my first day and I was nervouse holding a newborn baby on my arms. Still slimy, you have to take their anthropometric measurements, give them a bath, administer their first immunization (Vit K), [...]

Such a Busy Day!

Posted by admin On July - 3 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

Been really busy today. We traveled to Orange County to have dinner at Market Broiler located within The Block mall. There were way too many people hanging out even if it's not yet weekend. I think a lot of companies declared today a Holiday because July 4 fell on a Saturday. After dinner, we went to Westminster for Rolly's haircut. Alyssa and I decided to wait for him outside to catch some good air. Then I noticed that on my car door side is dent. I am not sure how it got there as I haven't seen it this morning when we left the house. Someone at the mall might have opened their door too wide and hit us. I am not really certain. But for sure, tonight Rolly will be looking for an auto dent removal shops to fix it. He can't stand even just s hairline scratch on his car!

Photo of the Day: It’s Universal

Posted by admin On July - 2 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

I know I had been promising new photos for July but it seems that I started the month really busy. Or I think it is just getting hotter each day that I don't even want to go out. But hopefully when my new lens comes in, I will be more motivated to take more shots. So for today, I am sharing another old stock of mine.

Updating Websites

Posted by admin On July - 2 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

I finally finished doing my sister-in-law's website the other day. I know she wanted her own website for a long time too so when I got a promo code for Domain Names and hosting from my host, I thought it's about time for her to get one. You can see her website at: http://www.WendyLicious.net. Ans here is what it looks like:

I also decided to update Alyssa's website. I changed the theme layout and the color. I will also start uploading her pics and videos in a little bit. Here is the link that will lead you to her website: http://www.Alyssa-Leigh.com. I also took a screenshot of it and here is how it looks like:

Buying Another Car

Posted by admin On July - 2 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

I wished we kept my convertible but with Alyssa traveling with me, it is not the safest car for me to drive. However, with two SUVs on our garage saving on gas is not easy. So Rolly is looking into other options and we both agreed on getting a small second had car. Used Cars can be good alternative rather than buying a new car. Once you buy a new one and drive it out the parking lot it is practically considered a used car already. That's what they say and I really do agree with it. If only I could go back in time when I bought my first car, I should have opted to getting a used car. I could have saved thousands on it!

Photo of the Day: Pot of Plants

Posted by admin On July - 1 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

I don't know when it started but I just noticed I am back to drinking cups and cups of coffee. Today alone, I started July with a huge mug of coffee at 6:00 in the morning and another one just minutes ago. I am addicted to caffeine... but I would guess it is better than smoking.

Anyway, today's photo was actually taken yesterday as I did some online shopping today. I bought another macro lens for my camera at Samy's Camera. It was a little pricey but it makes me feel a little better that I can still afford to indulge myself into things like these without asking money from Rolly. Hehehe! I had to pay ground shipping for it though because FedEx Shipment is $20.00 more. Anyways, back to the Photo of the Day topic. Ate Lynne gave Alyssa couple of potted plants that I used to accentuate the tub. It was looking a little dull. Greens always makes any room look better and refreshing. I took snapshots here and there.

Photo of the Day: Tiny Visitor

It was lurking on our rose garden. I tried to take more pictures but it slowly hid it's body on the stem. As if we were playing hide and seek. I was able to take four good macros and I chose chose this specific snapshot as my photo of the day.
